69 WORDS is the comi-tragic story of SARA, an HR manager, and her subordinate, WILL, a machine parts specialist. They awaken in a vast desert with only a cryptic message, random furniture, and a counting machine. Every spoken word brings them closer to their inevitable end, igniting a poignant exploration of love, loss, and the power of silence.
In the years that Claire Tanner has been a Script Supervisor, she has worked with some of the top directors in the film and TV industry on projects that have played on major networks and/or screened at Sundance, SXSW, Tribeca, and Telluride. All this has given Claire a wealth of knowledge about the nuts and bolts of bringing stories to life, and she is excited to be making her directorial debut with 69 Words. Claire hates writing her own bio and Josh did this for her.
Josh Barkey is a Nicholl finalisting, two-time Page winning, Sundance-and-Tribeca-selected screenwriter who ostensibly “grew up” in the Amazon basin of Peru, South America; purchased a Bachelor of English by hand planting (yes, literally) half a million baby trees in the Canadian wilderness; thinks faux-third-person bios are pretentious; and is currently clinging to the belief that if this sentence goes on long enough, Claire will decree it to be sufficient and he won’t have to write another.

Julie Cohen has a rich background in editing, with nominations for Emmys in 2017, 2016, and 2015, which she humorously notes makes her a "three-time Emmy losing editor," aspiring to become the Susan Lucci of Editing. Her extensive experience includes cutting episodic television, feature films, non-fiction TV, and documentaries. Julie is particularly passionate about editing comedy, especially with a preference for darker themes.
